Another great episode, as always; Brodequin turns out one of my favorite Brutal Death Metal bands and it's curious since I only discovered about them just recently with their latest record. Jamie is a very lucid person with a keen eye for music - I like that in artists; also, I really liked when you said their music is not like made by old dudes since the sound is so contemporary - keeping the mind fresh is essential in this business. So, about the episode content: 1) Fleshmadon sound cool but not exactly my thing; total respect though; 2) Mike Scondotto is such a guy of opinion! Must agree with him about the new Akhylis: I didn't like it either; it lacks of some options in the music to be fair; 3) That band, Candy... Sounds interesting; not exactly my kind of HC but it's very out of the box; 4) I like Tribulation but I totally understand they're not for everyone; 5) My favorite Testament record is their fist one, close followed by Dark Roots of the Earth. Exodus have a solid discography IMO, but their debut is just unbeatable! 5) Sad to know about Lou Koller - Sick of it All is a legendary HC band, and they couldn't reach this far without him; all good thoughts to him, his family and friends. That's it; thank you Jackie for the quality entertainment and until next episode. Take care.

The new Akhlys seems to be splitting opinion right down the middle: either people absolutely love it or they can't stand it. I am very much in the former camp but I definitely think that unless you absorb the new album in its entirety it's bound to be lost on you. As always, brother! Thank you and looking forward to your thoughts on next week's show.

Great interview! Got introduced to them via Justin Horval a bit ago with their MDF interview...been into DM since early '91, but just never heard these guys...hear a bit of old Hypocrisy in there(first impression)with the more modern extreme tempos and vocals... really stoked to see XL T-shirts available again so pulled the trigger on the new CD and shirt...cheers and great work! Some of the better content out there! 🤘

What can I say, another epic episode! Loved every second of it! On the topic of open air festivals, you should try Mystic Festival in Gdansk, Poland. It's open air, but it's smack dead in the city center, on the grounds of the former shipyard. You can go sightseeing in the old town after breakfast and then head on the concerts on foot. You want to f... off and go to bed? There are hotels and apartments for rent just a stone's throw away. And even if you're not staying in a close proximity of the festival, you exit out the gate and you can catch an Uber, a bus, a tram or a train and go pretty much anywhere in the city you want, without having to sell your kidneys to afford it. And just to mention a couple of acts from this year's edition that might have caught your fancy: Biohazard, Body Count, Mork, Vltimas, Totenmesse, Suffocation, High On Fire, Chelsea Wolfe, Crowbar, Blasphemy, Paradise Lost and of course... Bring Me The Horizon. :D

And here we are, Jackie! Another great interview and episode! I love when bands come with an open-heart opinion about their music! It's important to extreme Metal bands exposes their opinion about how they see the scene the're into, as well as talking about their references and what they think about the Metal music as a whole! I really enjoyed that and Gehenna have all my respect for that! About the episode content: 1) perdition's Mire has a very interesting appeal... It's gelid but somewhat hypnotic; liked it. 2) Yr is quite frantic and really harsh! I like when Black Metal hits like that; 3) Dark Tranquillity is easily my favorite Swedish Melodeath band! I totally understand they will never return to the original form and honestly that's OK; 4) Holy Jesus, I love that nasty touch on Fulci! It's old school but not cheesy like many bands around; there's something special on their sound and I trully enjoy that! 5) Brothers of Metal, eh? Hmmmm... Nah; 6) Modern Rites sounds quite intense and violent but idk... Something in this approach doesn't convince me; 7) I respect Zeal & Ardor - they have a solid vision abou their music and all but it's not for me; 8) Wormwitch is great! Really Punky/Crust and with two feet into extreme shit! It sounds like old Marduk/Nocturnal Breed in some parts! Frantic to the bone; 9) Orange Goblin have 0 originality but they're cool AF! I love that Lysergic Stoner/Doom approach! 10) Well, Ghost is another band which I like pretty much and I won't comlain about their current musical direction; 11) Gonna confess that I haven't any interest in hear the new Cavalera re-recordings, but there's an undeniable satisfaction when Max says "Porra! Caralho!" in a very Brazilian way! That's it! Thank you for another quality entertainment and until next week.

This is a case where you happily separate the artist from the art. The new Geminus one is so hella good but I have a hard time getting behind thinking that a fanboy of the paranoid, smug unempathetic Jordan Peterson is behind it. I'd rather listen to it and envision Gazans and other types of oppressed people fighting back rather than a suburban dad talk about making his bed, diet, working out, or some paranoid thing that's far from out to kill him. On the other hand, love the politics of the Pink Floyd guy but you won't catch me dead listening to that drivel, so yeah, happily can separate art from artist, and the new one is crazy good.

Vitriol's music is certainly a motivator of a healing process for me. I also see how it could be used as the soundtrack for a descent into negativity and depravity. Of course, that's ultimately up to the listener. Every time an individual experiences art, it is filtered through their way of processing it and it will rarely come across or come back out the exact same (Charles Manson was a huge Beach Boys fan... I rest my case 🤷🏼‍♂️). It is quite rare and respectable that this artist considers his role in that grander scheme. Even though he has no real control over it once it leaves his hands, he clearly has passion not just for his art, but for his fans and his impact, legacy, and effect on the world. 🔥
